Navigation bar effects not working

Hi,

For a website, I created a navigation bar that has buttons which changes colour on rollover or when clicked, in the trial version of Adobe Fireworks cs6. I did this using edit > create button and then using states.

I exported it and then inserted it as a Fireworks HTML Image into the trial version of Adobe Dreamweaver. However, when I preview this in browsers, the colour-changing effects do not work - despite the fact that the mouse changes to the hand icon to represent that it recognises the link.

Any ideas what I may have done wrong, or suggestions as to what I should do?
