Thanks again for your reply and ideas. I looked into Google chrome before I bought my most recent computer, and it just did not have enough of the options I needed. I truly do need to access the web, email, music, photos, word documents, etc. I am not clear what memory sticks are. All I have plugged into my computer are my digital camera and my passport external drive. I suppose either of those could be infected? As I am clearly infected, is it even safe to sent out emails to friends with an attachment? Could we be passing all this back and forth? Could you please also address the issue of adding another person in the household's lap top to mine and getting a router and making a network? At this time that would not be a good idea, would it? I probably just need to stick with my desktop alone at this time? Would an option be any better an option? It indeed is very frustrating when techs and microsoft talk me into different anti virus and malware software and then I have to cancel them, and lose out on a lot of money!!! Is there a way someone could access my computer via just knowing my IP addy? Thanks again so much.
