If you're able to save (or "print") directly to PDF from Word, then you may not need the PDF Pack subscription. Though you subscription does allow you to do other things, such as combine files, and export from PDF to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
An Acrobat subscription is a bit more ($19.99/month), but you do get the full feature set of Acrobat. (With a subscription, you download and install Acrobat on your desktop/laptop, so you're not working over the Internet--it's the same software as if you purchased Acrobat outright.)
I do work for Adobe in a number of different capacities. But I really enjoy being on the forums!
