Thanks for the reply.

For your re-consideration, since I do not see that to be the case.

After I started this thread, I found the online manual. The "Save as" command allows me to save to a different drive. My first save attempt gave the default location you listed, but not the location I preferred.

When you open a new Premiere Elements 12 project, the project is given the default name of My New Video Project1.prel. And, in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the Save In location for that project file is by default Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0.

In the workspace, the File Menu/Save As may be what you are seeking...control over file name and control of save location of the project that you are in.

But I would go a step further to give you control over ease in deleting a project and its assets when it comes time for you to get rid of it rather than having a project file separated from its scattered files associated with it.

1. Open Premiere Elements to the Expert workspace....the name of your project is now My New Video Project1.prel.

2. Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks and designate all the categories to "Same As Project".

3. Go to File Menu/Save As and in the Look In field navigate to and set for your wanted hard drive location. In the File Name field, name the file

example Michael.

Thereafter, the project should be named Michael and should be found at the hard drive save location that you designated.

We will watch for your results on the above or a variation thereof.

Thanks.
