How do I verify branched sections completed?

I have created a module with branching. At the base of each branch, the user can select which branch to take. By the end of the section, the user is returned to the main path of the module. My problem is that unless the user goes back and selects all the possible branches of a given section, the section in the TOC will not get checked as completed. Is there any way to write an advanced action to mark all branched sections completed, even if the user only completes one?
