Thanks dj_paige, the problem with that (if you refer to my OP) is that with literally hundreds of photos (occasional 1000+ in a folder from a shoot) it is unreasonable to scroll through that many to find the one I recognize and then click "go to folder"). You must have a good memory to remember five to ten folder names a day over several weeks... that's about 75-100 folder names a month... beyond most folks abilities.
Using Library Filters to narrow things down still leave me with an overwhelming number of photos to scroll through. Your suggestion of using keywords works great for files I've already gone through/rejected/flagged, starred and labeled, however that does not work when I get back from a trip and have 5 weeks of photos (hundreds of folders and thousands of RAW files) on an external drive that I import to Lightroom and then need to workflow.
So I am assuming Lightroom doesn't have this ability? Too bad, and it's strange too as every other photo editing/organizing piece of software I've used has this functionality. Even free ones like Picasa and iPhoto.
