Lightroom has never been, nor was it intended to be, a mere “raw converter.” You're using the wrong software. Oops

That's not what Lightroom is about, and the kinds of gimmicky filter options you aspire to have no place in a Raw converter.
Hmm, well the way I've always seen Lightroom is this:
It's for people that don't want to rely on the camera giving them a correct image in Jpeg form that can't be easily corrected later, i.e white balance, exposure, highlight recovery, colour problems etc etc. Therefore you would shoot in both Jpeg and Raw at the same time, and if you are not happy with the Jpeg version, bin it, take the RAW version into Lightroom and develop it yourself (using Lightroom's RAW development engine). Then once you have an image that you are happy with you would export it (Jpeg or Tiff). This then replaces the faulty Jpeg from the Camera, and then if needed you would further edit it in a purpose made and advanced editor like Photoshop. So i do see Lightroom just as a Raw development software, and then if needed you would then go on to use a pro editor like Photoshop.
I'm sure many would disagree and i'm ok with that, but that's just how i see things.
I suppose if i wanted to be more technically correct then Lightroom is also a great cataloging system too, and so in that respect it is more than just RAW development software.
