Re: new to dreamweaver

i would like to point out that i did title this "New to Dreamweaver" monday was my first day looking at it where as i have 10 years in illustrator, pagemaker, photoshop and freehand. I would also like to mention that i am dyslexic. any misspelled words can be attributed to that. I mostly focused on doing stuff like posters, business cards, news letters, inventory sheets and such. I recently used wix to clean up a page for my girlfriend and another friend asked me why i didnt use dreamweaver. she said real graphics artists use that plus if i have the creative suite its kinda a waste to not use it. while she was joking about me not being a real graphics artist, i had to agree with her second point.

so i thank you for the advice but that still doesn't answer my question... notice the box around all the text and other boxes? how do i fill it in solid and leave the rest as a gradient? here is an example of what i am trying to do. this is the site i am working on for my girlfriend.. see the grey background? see the pink one? how do i do that with what i have so far? the pink background's opacity is set to 50% so that the pink is not overpowering...Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

the banner is something i created in illustrator.. the picture is one that i took and i also edited... truth is i like the idea of a gradient, i am using my webpage to explore all possibilities with dreamweaver and html.. but as i have stated i am new at this.. until this past monday i had no idea what a container was as far as html goes let alone how to use it.. i am still unsure but learning.. thats why i decided to appeal to those who know more than me.. i guess i will stick to asking my girlfriend...thanks any way..
