You can also use the bracket keys to change the in point and out point of a layer.
[ moves the start point to the time marker.
] moves the end point of the layer to the time marker.
opt|alt [ does not move the layer in time but only sets the layer's In Point.
opt|alt ] does not move the layer in time but only sets the layer's Out Point.
