I would like to be able to email/save a form with a unique name each time. Ideally if I could use information from a couple of the text boxes that would work great such as DRIVER NUMBER, DATE, and TIME that would give it a unique file name and be easy to file or locate by DRIVER and then DATE and TIME.
1. Currently we are doing something like this and they have installed some custom script on each workstation and it saves the file on the C drive and you must find it and then attach to email. I am assuming there is no way around this and you cannot send the form without first saving it as "XXX.pdf". Where can I read up on the scripting to do this so I can figure it out myself?
2. I have seen a video of someone creating a form and they switched to LiveCycle to create the send button as it was much easier they said. From doing a little research on this product is appears that it is much more powerful than Acrobat. I have thought about possibly creating the form in this and using some of the fields to create another field that would include DRIVER NUMBER, DATE, and TIME. The person could then "save as" from the field populated from those three fields.
There doesn't appear to be much information on custom scripting for this any point in the right direction would be appreciated.
This was all I could find thus far. http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript
