While Eugene may think an i3 with 4 gb RAM is adequate to run ID, I'd say it might meet the minimum spec (and I'm not sure an i3 does, what version of ID and which version of Windows?), but is hardly adequate to run graphics programs as a pro. I'll bet you're also using som of that RAM for the video, and if you have multiple programs open you'll be spending more time swapping in and out of virtual memory than actually working.
